One Big Fight!

For the past week, whenever you look at the newspapers, listen to the radio, or watch TV, 2 words will definitely be there: MANNY PACQUIAO. This guy is the most famous person in Philippine history. If team pacquiao runs for the 2007(?) elections, it'll be a landslide victory for them, even if all the other politicians, honest ones or otherwise, band together. *Snicker* Who am I kidding, all the politicians are corrupt. I'd make a poll, but I don't know how to. ><;; Oist charles, paturo naman.

I can't imagine the amount of pressure Manny has to deal with. The fate of the ENTIRE NATION is resting on his shoulders. This guy is perhaps the only thing holding our nation together. Pretty soon, our National Anthem will be changed from Lupang Hinirang to "Para sa Iyo (ang Laban na to)". Yes, for those of you who don't know, Pacquiao now has his own music CD! All sung by him. And of course, with great powers comes great showbiz potential.

I really really hope he wins. Skillwise, I think Morales is a lot better than Pacquiao. Plus the fact that Morales is, in Ragnarok terms, "makunat". He wasn't even bruised after their first fight while Pacquiao was a bloody mess. But then again, Pacquiao still has a clear advantage in speed and power. Whatever happens, it's going to be a good fight on Sunday.

Oh and by the way, ever since that fluke win versus barrera, Manny's hasn't won a big fight. Let's not count the two pakains ok? (Thailand fashung guy and Hector Velasquez). I just can't imagine the disappointment millions of people will feel if Manny loses ><;; This has got to be the biggest buildup for an athlete ever.

All the media propaganda worked. Now I feel that this fight is no longer just an ordinary boxing match. Sure, it's still Pacman and El Terrible in that ring. But you can't help but feel that the entire nation is watching this fight. Every Filipino, regardless of social status, ethnicity, religion, or any other differences, is rooting for Manny. And in a nation struggling with rampant corruption in the government, greedy selfish politicians, and a crappy economy, this fight has become a mirror of our own struggles in life. We want Manny to win because, at some level, we can empathize with him and we want to believe that we can defeat all obstacles through sheer faith and willpower. Fight! With all your heart and soul, we can win!

Man that was cheesy. If the fight on Sunday will be made into a movie, there's going to be a flashback scene between the rounds. Then when the 6th round bell sounds, all the filipino's watching will channel their energy to Pacman and he will finish off Morales with a left straight while shouting defiantly.. "MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!"

GO PACQUIAO!! TAPUSIN MO NA YAN SA 6th!!!

morales had personal issues, translating to a performance worse than the raheem episode.

In boxing, (and in real life), nobody ever loses without excuses. I'm not saying these excuses are valid. Darn informed me that Morales sure had a lot of issues to deal with.

Syang, astig sana ung laban pag full power si morales. REMATCH!!!

Barrera vs Pacquiao na next fight ata... tough fight nanaman si manny. pero at least may confidence na. IMO, mas mahirap na matchup para kay pacquiao si marquez ><;; Buti nlng iba ang weight class (tama ba?)

who is this ryan dude? why do you belittle my hispanic brothers? barrera is a great fighter. remember, barrera was floored by a lucky punch. one more thing, barrera is a great COUNTER PUNCHER--a contrast to erik morales' style; and jm marquez (so as not to mistake him for rafael) won at least 7 of the last 11 rounds against your boy pacquiao.

heck, if you don't believe mexicans pack a powerful punch, i'd be happy to serve you an uppercut from tijuana. i know you're working out and all, but that doesn't mean you could belittle my hombres. watch your back ryan. i'm coming for you.

viva mexico!!!!!!
