Zoooombie!

Saturday started out pretty bad. The rain was pouring really hard in the morning and I wasn't sure if I am able to get out of the house hopefully this afternoon. Good thing the rain stopped for a while around lunch time so I used this moment to high tail out of the house. As a rule, I don't want to spend a Saturday at home. It's so damn boring.

So anyway, Saturday was fun. I was able to watch Land of the Dead, and it was decent. A bit too gory and gross at times but still the movie as a whole was ok. This isn't Sin City level goriness, it's more of a zombie-eat-human-limbs-organs-and-what-not shown in full color high detail kind of gore. There was, i think, 3 moments when I said "ewwwwwww" during the movie. It being a social satire means it's not all zombie-kicking action, which I personally didn't really like. Screw the story man, I want to see zombies being blown to pieces by Dead Reckoning (the name of their tank. pretty cool name IMO). Seriously, I don't want to see some half baked concept about capitalism in a zombie flick. Save it for Eco class.

Saturday ended with Conan O Brien, same as Tuesdays to Fridays. Life's good if you can end the day with a good laugh. No arnold on the show though ><

Sunday was also a great day. The sun was shining brightly, something that hasn't happened for quite some time now. Lately, it's always the gloomy grey weather with occational drizzles. Ok, that weather update just wasted 3kb of cyberspace. Anyway, I went to Kohikan in Promenade and ordered a latte. For some reason, they served my coffee in a SOUP BOWL O.O I don't know if this is some kind of Japanese tradition or something so I looked around if the other customer's coffee were also served in bowls. Nope. All of their coffee were in cups, which is the way it should be. What the hell, I just drank it from the bowl, like the barbarian that I am. Me Tay, Me drink coffee from bowl, Uraaagh. I swore I saw one of the waiters giggle as I was drinking it...

Afterwards, I played Land of the Dead in Timezone. Blowing the heads off zombies and innocent civilians (you'll never know, they might've been bitten you know) is always fun. Went to VCF after that and had quick dinner at Mr Choi. So that ended my weekend, which I really enjoyed. It's not really the latte or the movie that makes the day, it's the company that makes everything special. Ateneo lost to DLSU though. Good thing I didn't watch the game. Sad. The last game of LA Tenorio. My props to you, LA! Dahil sayo, naka isang championship tayo! /no1 Good luck in your PBA career!

Free time? Don't watch Sugo.

I was watching the news a while ago, it was showing the jewelry of Imelda Marcos on TV. One was a big ruby with diamonds all around, the other was a set composed of a diamond-studded tiara and earrings and shit. The combined price of both was around two million dollars O.O

And there they were, debating whether the jewelries (400+ of them, only the 2 were shown in detail), should be sold. What the hell are all these morons talking about?!? Look at the country, fools. You got millions of Filipinos starving to death and you dipshits are arguing if the jewelries, which were probably bought by using the money of the same starving Filipinos, should be kept in display. Oh wow! Fat lot of help that does to the country. I'm sure LOOKING at the pretty stones will fill up the stomach. Bastards.

I switched channels and watched Conan instead. That's better.

Change topic:

I lived for 21 years now and sadly, the quality of Filipino action series/movies is still as crappy as ever. I mean cmon, I'd rather watch really old chinese kung fu flicks with cheesy graphics than sitting through one whole show of, oh say, Sugo. At least the kung fu guys can really FIGHT.

I'm not bashing just Sugo, I'm talking about most Filipino action series/movies. I can't stand a bunch of pretty boys punch and kick each other in a sissy way then think they're sooo cool. You suck! Got it? If someone laughs at you in public places, like cafeterias, because you starred in a crappy action seriers like ummm... a random example will be Pintados, you don't have the right to give the look.

Seriously, who choreographs the fight scenes of these shows? I think they're trying to save a few cents so they hired a drunken monkey to direct the fight scenes. After a while, they noticed that no improvements are taking place, so they hired three more drunken monkeys. No offense to monkeys. Those guys are mean SOB's O.O Don't force your actors to do jet lee moves ok?

Oh don't get me started on the "special effects" *snicker*. Ah yes, Darna. They boasted that they used the flying technique in the Matrix. Holy shit! Were you guys wasted while watching the Matrix? O.O Keanu Reeves starred in the Matrix, not Christopher Reeve. Don't confuse em. Matrix is a really popular movie to ripoff, especially the famous "bullet time". Unfortunately, not all bullet times look astig. Example: Sugo. Bad guy shoots bullet, good guy catches bullet with fingers, all done in bullet time. Unfortunately, instead of the desired "oooh" reaction, I did the not-so-desired "blech" vomit reaction. Talk about ugly.

I can hear some of you say: "Why don't you make your own action movie, let's see if you can do better." Oh I will do better, a lot better that these crap. Just give me the money to do it and I'll escape to the Carribeans, i mean I'll make the stupid movie.

But then again, I'd rather be an actor in a crappy action series than doing what I do every day. Bah. I'm just a bitter bitter man XD If by any chance, one of the actors/actresses of those shows were to read my blog, they'd probably comment something like:

Yeah, whay you said is true, but look at how much money I have.

Then I'd reply something like,

Oh yeah? Well... ummm.... errrm... Just you wait! When I am also rich and famous, I'd have a blistering witty retort and you'll be devastated by then!

Man, lucky actors. ><

I can't help remembering....

...this song by the Cranberries, since Land of the Dead is now showing.

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou..

Speak softly and carry dumbells

I went to glorietta on saturday and was trying to decide if I am going to buy a book or buy some dumbells. Wipe that smirk off your face, I DO try to keep fit. So after thinking about it, I decided to buy the dumbells. There's nothing I want to read as of the moment anyway, except possibly for Wolves of Calla, the 5th book of the Dark Tower Series. Dumbells build muscles, and muscles are cool. There's nothing manlier than flexing your biceps causing the sleeves of your shirt to rip. Muscles also increase strength (duh), and it requires great strength to crush the faces of people (two of them to be exact) I hate with my bare hand. So, there I went to toby's to buy the dumbells.

After that, I went to G4 to play some tekken. Man did I own those noobs. I even used Bruce and won. Opponents used cheap parlor tricks to win games like crappy Christie breakdance moves (which can be easily low parried *ho hum*), steve scrubs who only know how to use albatross mixups *yawn* Then this good nina player came and beat my Bruce, then he beat my Bryan. I was really pissed off so I went to the other side and whacked him in the head with my 2 ton dumbell. Yes it was that heavy, anything below 2 tons feels like a feather to me.

Apparently, it was grandparents day yesterday. Or today. My family had lunch in Gloria Maris. Nothing significant happened except for the eating, which is normally what you will do in a restaurant. So why the hell am I saying this?

Sunday was a good TV'ing day. I watched Pacquiao and ADMU win. Velasquez gave pro-Manny fans a scare though, as he showed good form in the first 2 rounds. However that was it. From the 3rd round ownards, Manny beat the crap out of Velasquez. Nice one! Stupid Velasquez. His first instinct when he sees manny's head in close range is not to punch it but to grab it. Yakap-master.

I didn't see the Morales fight, which is a good thing because he lost ><;; Oh well, according to charles, the fight was pretty gay, with lots of dancing around and stuff. Morales' opponent, whose name I can't really remember so I'll just call him Joe, won the game by jabbing and running away like a sissy girl. Oh well, a win's a win. Another factor that contributed to Joe's win over El Terrible was that Joe is a natural lightweight while Morales had to climb up from super feather. The rematch between Morales and Pacquiao is still on though.

Then the admu game.. We won! Yippee! THe team lives and dies by tenorio's performance. Ateneo sure was pretty fortunate tenorio had such a stellar (or was it lucky?) performance. But still, my props to LA for such a great game. As for FEU, their best three point shooter is Arwind Santos, who is also their center O.o I wonder if he'll be any good in the PBA... He's too damn thin. ADMU vs DLSU on thursday! Weeee~

Lastly, I was watching Alaska and the Japan team play in ABC5... I have only one thing to say.. DRAMA!!! Philippines can beat anyone, they do it for the love of their country, blah blah blah.. >< DRAMA!!! Oh and alaska was destroyed by Japan.

Man I'm depressed. The song playing on the radio is "I Miss You". So sad.. sniff sniff.

(goes to mike's blog and sings the Michaelandia theme instead)

Now I'm even more depressed ><

Full of sound and fury.. signifying Castlevania

I was watching the news the other day, and after a few minutes, my stand on politicians was reinforced. They should all be shot to death. This was when the lozada complaint was trashed. What a bunch of morons. There were papers flying everywhere as pro-impeachment congressmen stormed out of the room. Then they interviewed this angry guy blubbering something about the system being unfair and something about since they are very civilized they'll take the fight to the streets. Jeez what a bunch of dolts. Don't get me wrong. I'm not really anti-impeachment in the sense that I believe GMA is innocent. The fact is, I couldn't care less how she won. I couldn't care less if anybody else won for that matter (except FPJ). But she's in power. Deal with it you crybabies. If I side with Gloria, there will be corruption in the government, but at least she's doing something to help the country. No service to the country, no kickback, right? Pro-impeachment dipshit congressmen should stop whining and do what I did after watching the news for a full 30 seconds...

Open my ZNES emulator and play Castlevania. Now that's a lot more productive than what they're doing. The cost of playing castlevania (electricity) per congressman is much less than having an impeachment trial (costs include delaying economic plans for the country, wasting taxpayers money to pay for the salaries of tantrum throwing politicians, traffic caused by senseless rallies, etc). The benefits that playing castlevania brings to the country, which is none, is equal to the benefits of having an impeachment trial, which is surprisingly also none. So there you go. To all pro impeachment congressmen: do us all a favor and quit your day jobs. Play castlevania. visit www.cherryroms.com for the emulator and www.romnation.net for the rom.

In conclusion, i have something to say to all dipshit congressmen out there, you know who you are:

Utinam coniurati te in foro interficiant

Profound huh? It means "may conspirators assasinate you in the hall". Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur, ne? XD

Weekends, the only days worth mentioning

After nearly 1 1/2 years, I finally went back to Manangs to eat their famous liempo XD Last saturday, I had lunch in the famous "clubhouse" with yerx, moy, boc, and *gasp* darn! Nothing's changed. It's still hot in Manangs, the liempo is still delicious, the 10 php longanisa is still there, and I still drink mountain dew. There was supposed to be a gimik on the afternoon but Kabo can't make it, so I went with moy and company and watched the UAAP game in the ADMU gym.

It was my first time to watch a live UAAP game. The only game I watched in the gym was when Ginebra and ADMU played back in my first year. Man! We sure were decimated in that game. Gerard Honeycutt vs Enrico Villanueva anyone? I remember hearing Caguioa telling the people during an interview that he originally planned to study in ADMU if he wasn't allowed to immidiately play in the PBA. Damnit! So close.. >< But then again, I wonder if what he said was true. If Ginebra was playing in DLSU, i think he'll say he wants to study in DLSU instead.

So back to the UAAP game. ADMU vs UST. I thought this was going to be a walk in the park. Not bad for my first live game. Nope! The game was pretty damn depressing. You know the deal. Down 42-24 during halftime. Pulling to within 1 in the 4th quarter but in the end, we still lost. Oh well. Interestingly, the second game is DLSU vs UP. The DLSU players arrived early and sat right in front of us. Cabatu, Yeo, and an unknown fellow were sitting right there. Good thing mike wasn't there yet (pumunta rin si mike. surprise!).. mike + darn + basketball players = trouble. And man was joseph yeo famous. There were like 241 girls who took their pictures with him, some even sat on his lap. A guy also wanted to have his picture taken with yeo, but yeo declined because the guy wants to sit on his lap too. XD

After the game, we ate in Carafe in Shang. Not the hotel, the mall. The food was, well, decent. I'd choose Tasty over it anytime though XD.

Sunday went by without anything happening. Oh well. I miss crepes. Maybe next time ^^

Anyway, it's monday again. I wish God created the world in 5 days (and rested on the 6th day), that way the week will be 1 day shorter XD
