Magdridrive ako hanggang... QC sports complex

Ok, last sunday was the first time I drove without my dad. My sister had to attend a children's party in QC sports complex. It'd be a hassle if she were to ask my dad to drive her to the venue because he had to hang around somewhere else till the party ends then return to fetch her. Actually, I didn't want to go to the children's party myself, so I dared her to ask if I can drive the car with my sister to the party. And to my surprise, my parents agreed. O.o

Not that I have anything against my parents, but it makes me pretty pissed off sometimes when they think of me as an incompetent fool who's going to crash the car on the first lamp post i see. They are also a believer of people materializing out of thin air and standing in front of your car. But then again, it doesn't hurt to be on the safe side. XD

The things I hate most on the road are bicycles, and any variations thereof. This includes but are not limited to, tricycles, pedicabs, motorcycles, unicycles, etc. Damn these contraptions and the person(s) riding them. They are especially irritating in narrow roads with lots of people. Damnit! Moving so abysmally slow.. >< Then when you blow your horns, they have the nerve to give you that look. Screw you asshole. Unless you can pedal at 40kph, get off the damn road.

And lastly, I'm no expert driver, I admit that. A question to "veteran" drivers out there, or to anyone who has an opinion: How the hell do you see those holes and badly designed humps on the road? Do you avoid every hole that you see regardless of its depth? Do you check your side mirrors before making ilag the hole? How close is the hole when you see it? And btw, I hate those damn humps that come out of nowhere >< After the bicycles, holes and humps come in second ><

hmm practice makes perfect. Hmmm for humps i dont stop pag maliit Aang humps konting apak lng sa break cgro iabsorb mo nlng yun effect. pag malaki be sure to stop pra indi maflat yun gulong or pra indi masakit sa katawan. Hmmm for driving tips, people has this routine in driving they always go to the same road everytime especially going to work same road ako lagi. its best to memorize the humps and holes and order of stop light to get ahead of everybody. Yun lng

i have no frigging clue where the humps are. i actually ran through the super hump in front of ISO near the north carpark at 80 kph once. needless to say, my car's underchassis didn't appreciate it.

for humps and holes, best advice is to go slowly. its doubtful that there are any really large holes or humps out there, so the normal potholes can be negotiated by just going slow.

if your car is lowered or you have some extremely heavy cargo that lowers your car (i have no clue why the fuck you'd want to lower your car in the philippines with all the flooding, but hey some morons do it) the best way to negotiate large humps like the ones along UP would be to take them sideways. so instead of going head on into the hump, go in diagonally. it helps your car not scrape the ground.

as for the other question, depth perception is a bitch and the only way to learn it is through practice. i still suck at depth perception and i just go by experience to know how far away stuff is.

a novice's piece of his mind: know your humps and potholes. alamin mo kung ano yung mababaw at alin yung hihigop sa sasakyan mo papuntang impyerno. alamin mo rin kung alin yung madalas mapuno nang tubig para ndi ka makabasa ng tao. sa humps, konting preno lang para ndi malakas ang impact. syempre pag baguhan ka, ndi maiiwasan na pagalitan ka, pero ayus lang yon. kanya kanyang style yan.
