last 5 books i've read

Here are the last 5 books i've read and my opinions about them, if by any chance you disagree, you're probably wrong.

1. Good Omens
This is one of the best books I've read. In fact, it is so good that I refused to finish it because I won't have anything this good to read anymore. This is just so damn funny and entertaining. It is about an angel and a demon who are best friends, the end of the world just around the corner, and a hellhound called "dog".

2. Life of Pi
Avoid this shit at all cost. I don't care if this is critically acclaimed or something, this is just downright sucky. Apparently, this book has some really deep philosphical insights in it, but the story is just waaaay crappy. IMO, the story always comes first. It should be entertaining and imaginative to keep me interested. This is why I also hated Da Vinci Code. Sigh, and I had such high hopes for this book. Crap Crap Crap.

3. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Again, one of the best books i've read. This one probably joins my top 3 books of all time, together with Good Omens and Solitaire Mystery. And again, this is just so damn funny. Great story, light reading, and very thick! Weeee! I'm not really a big fan of Isaac Asimov-ish Sci Fi, but this one is an exception. For those of you who watched the sucky h2g2 movie, don't worry. The book rocks!

4. Soul Forge
This is the story of the most badass wizard in the entire fantasy world, Raistlin Majere. Now Raistlin is a cool wizard, unlike the bunch of sissies in Hogwarts. Soulfroge is... ok. When it comes to Ad&d books (forgotten realms, dragonlance, ravenloft etc), I prefer to read R.A. Salvatore's books, the author of numerous Drizzt du Urden stories. Margaret Weis, the author of soulforge, is not very good in making fight scenes.

5. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
How many of you know this one? Anyway, I was really curious about this book, but I didn't buy it because it costs 600 bucks and is only around 200-300 pages. After a while, my sister bought it so yey, i get to read it. It was.. rather disappointing. I finished it, but mainly because I already started it. It's like watching a crappy movie begin, getting hooked up with the plot, wondering how it'll end, then realizing you wasted 2 hours of your life. It's about a genius mathematician kid who tries to find out who killed his neighbor's dog. Sucked.

PS> seven, peram naman ng clan novels! :D
